Book to Braille concept is an ambitious project, which is under development by bright minds of TactoVision Pvt Ltd, promises to bring all hard printed books to a hand held Refreshable Braile device for visually challenged people. Its first phase code named “Book to Voice” has the capability of scanning printed material and PDF files, extract text and convert them into speech.The embedded AI feature is capable of summarizing text in printed material and answer to the relqted questions asked. AI also describes the scene and identify the image features like Currency notes, Coins etc... It consists of an Android App that runs on the user device which is mounted on a stand or in a hand held mode. The device camera captures the open book page, extracts its text and read aloud. App supports all Indian languages including default language English. App also has translation feature that supports all Indian languages too. The sentences from the scanned paragraph can be effortlessly navigated forward and backward using buttons. An user friendly keyboard is supplied along with the stand that makes the app usage more user friendly, without relying on devices touch screen. The complete app is compactable to TalkBack feature too. The app also has auto book aligner for usage with out stand, while holding in hand. The app also supports PDF document scanner, that converts PDF content to voice. We have made this app light weight and relies on latest state of art cloud computing technology hosted in our webservers.
